Daily journal November 10, 2000, The Waterford Crystal Factory, Waterford Ireland.
No trip to Ireland is complete without a visit to Waterford and the Crystal Factory which is one of the biggest industries in Ireland even with the 22% tax which they abate for the export. They have a delicious buffet lunch and acres of Crystal sparkling in everything from sleighs to chandeliers. Busloads of people come off everyday by the thousands and people from all over the world buy crystal here. They have a good display of art and of prints of Irish art. Waterford and its river is located near the Southern coast of Ireland. We go from here back to Dublin where we have reservations on the 6:00 p.m. ferry to Holy Head England for tomorrow's flight to Detroit. The rain is still coming down heavy and I hope we can make the boat on time with all the little town's to go through including going near to Waxford along the coast. I recommend the bed and breakfast we stayed at not far from the Factory on the West side of Waterford. The Duke of York in England is where that great was named New York in 1665. I do feel wonderful here in Ireland and I thank God for their independence from England although they are still dependent lot on England and England is dependent on America, we saved them during the war of WWII, when Hitler was sending over his missiles big and fighter planes every night. Roosevelt was a friend indeed to ship them war materials when their plants were destroyed before our U.S. Congress approved the shipments. God was looking after his favorite people. We have given them good and bad including our pasteurized milk, our fluoride water and our hydrogenated vegetable oil's in addition to our cigarettes and many other awful vices including Hollywood to damn their souls. No wonder so many Irish are ill and mad at us.
I pray God to give strength and wisdom to communicate and educate people to the truth. Inspire us dear Lord in the Word of God to teach and speak the truth and keep the faith of our Fore-Fathers, that we may live for God in peace forever. Deliver I us from bondage. An iron hot plate art of a log cabin home entitled good neighbor was given to me by the last bed and breakfast with a verse "Good neighbors are a blessing. They give you peace of mind, you never have to ask them, they always find the time, one such is you dear friend, is very hard to find ". I have a friend to give this to that meets this description.
A report on living artist Louis Labrocky from Ireland whose painting just sold for a one and one-half million Irish pounds, he sold the painting for 40 lbs. when he painted it, his art show opens today at the Taylor Gallery in Dublin. He now lives in England. We're now driving Northeast along the coast to Dublin in blinding rain and fog. We were doing fine until early nightfall and a sign directing us to the ferries appeared, of course they were the wrong ferries taking us way out of town to the Southeast stuck in awful traffic not moving at all and we missed our boat but was rescheduled for one at 10:00 p.m. for three and a half hours. We're now in the middle of Dublin and lost for is impossible for anyone to know the way. After two hours of touring the huge dark town, we found the Dublin docks and waited for this huge boat to sail. We are finally on board with our car parked, we went upstairs and tried to get a birth to sleep in but they were all booked up, but we were directed to the front lounge and almost no one was there so we laid down on the couches and slept the entire time sailing to England. Thank you Lord for getting us here even with the great difficulties we suffered and uncertainty. Genesis 24-7"The Lord God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sworn unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee and shall take a wife unto my son from thence".
